The City Flower

"Hamagiku"
The Hamagiku is a precious flower which grows wild from the Aomori Misawa district to the Hitachinaka city coast.
It is resilient to salty air, dryness and cold .
The flower is large and easy to cultivate.
Flowering season is from September to November.

The City Tree

"Ginkgo tree"

A "ginkgo tree" has a vitality, a magnificent form and is suitable to the developing "Hitachinaka city."
It is a deciduous tree of Ginkgoaceae introduced into Japan through China for many years.
The tree lives from 500 to 600 years.

The Japanese bush warbler is loved by people from ancient times as a bird which tells of spring.It sings in a beautiful voice from early spring to summer.It is a little grass-brown colored bird, size is about 16cm.
