National Health Insurance

National Health Insurance is designed to reduce the burden of medical treatment costs for residences who are not enrolled in Employees health insurance at their place of employment.
National Health Insurance covers 70% of the cost of all medicalvisits,and you pay 30%of them.The assessed premium is based on your net income from the previous year.

*Required items:
You have obtained your Certificate of Alien Registration and habe stayed in Japan for more than a year.
*For enrollment:
"Inkan"(personal seal).Certificate of Alien Registration.Document which proves that you have been in Japan for more than a year.

Benefits
*If you pay the cost of medical visits more than the monthly limit,the excess will bee refunded to you later.
*A loan system is available for persons who are unable to pay expensive medical charges.
*A birth allowance will be obtained.
